Re: Sit down with Tim Tebow

I'll add to that list Danger....

slow.

I don't think anyone is "picking on him" because he was successful.  It's got more to do with the fact that he has never taken a snap under center in his college career.  That is a HUGE detriment in the NFL.  College quarterbacks, who run the spread offense (solely) have had alot of difficulty making the transition to the pro game.

Re: Sit down with Tim Tebow

WOW...I wont lie I never saw any of those things out of him their OC needs to be our OC if he can game plan a kid that terrible for four years and help him win a Heisman and a NC while playing in the SEC as well so its not like he had some inflated numbers while playing in some weak A$$ conference...lol...of course,Doug Flutie had the world against him as well and the main thing people saw in him was his heart and ability to win even with his disadvantages.

All I can say is he broke one of Emmitt Smiths records while there,he has a whole lot of heart which I dont think anyone can refute, and put plain and simple,he just knows how to win....I dont think you can go wrong with that for your recipe....I mean Tony Pike is a model pro QB but he also has been injured so much how could you pick him and McCoy is more than likely gonna be gone before we even get a chance anyways...to me the drafting of QB's this year and many other years is a game of russian roulette...you might get an Elway or you might get a Leaf....you might get a P.Manning or you might get a Pennington...who knows.

Re: Sit down with Tim Tebow

Hopefully this is nothing more than Hurney and Fox playing games with the rest of the personnel people in the league.  Meeting with Tebow in order to give the perception that they are really interested.  But again if you had the opportunity why not meet with the kid, what's it gonna hurt. Reports from NFL Network and Sirius, both outlets observed all team practices and drills, are that Tebow struggled with decision making as to throwing to open receivers.  There is a difference between college open and NFL open and Tebow had major problems with that it was reported.  I for one hope the Panthers don't fall in love with Tebow the person and become shortsighted about Tebow the NFL player.

Re: Sit down with Tim Tebow

I really hope that we don't hear about this guy coming to us again. Resign mccown as our 3rd string and Moore is the starter. Were good at QB.

Well, with Tebow, the odds are stacked in favor of him being a Leaf, but he won't be drafted high enough to have the same expectations.

I don't know if you follow college football much, but if you did, you'd know that the college game is completely different from the pro game.  That's why there are so many busts in the draft, because players can't adapt to the NFL.  Everyone is quicker, stronger, faster, smarter across the board than any team ever could be in college.  Its such a leap that the faults of many players are exposed that weren't problems playing against lesser competition in college.

Tebow is arguably one the best player to have ever played college ball (or at least very, very high on the list), but his flaws are those that will be picked apart in the NFL unless he can change them, but there's so many things to fix that I wouldn't want to take a risk on such a large project of a QB.

He's got all the intangibles, but its the tangibles that he's severely lacking.

Re: Sit down with Tim Tebow

Yes, the main problem with TT is the adjustment coming from the spread offense to the NFL. He might make it as a fullback because he's too slow to do anything else--he's always just bulldozed over others. One other thing, I was listening to AM 1400 today, used to be the Pacman at that hour, and they were just completely dismissing Matt Moore as a QB answer for the Panthers. Why? is what I want to know. The guy's stats are amazing, and I think he showed clear progress in accuracy over the 5 games he started this year. Yeah, maybe you could say he had 6 unbelievable quarters, but hey, when he was good he was pretty freakin good, and when he was bad he was ineffective, but not lethal. So what gives?

The guy is what...6-2 as a starter in the NFL...perhaps the nay-sayers put more weight into "God Knows what" but IMO the W's are just HUGE...am scracthing my head in wondering why others cannot or refuse to see him as the clubs future Q???? Guess it is style points or sumthing over a 75% winning %....Manning, Brees, Brady, Warner are rare...and I could careless if MM ever reaches such a lofty eval from others...he is a guy who seems to W more times than not and that is pretty dag-gone-cool in my book...
