To Tag or Not to Tag...that is the question. After reading Steve's latest article, and with today being the first opportunity to designate a franchise player, who out there thinks Pep will get the tag beore the 25th, or be allowed to walk without compensation? Since I started this thread, I'll hold my own thoughts until we get some other feedback on here. |

Re: To Tag or Not to Tag...As one of the top brass amongst the NFL owners and leadership circle MR. R is kind of b/t a rock and a hard place in dealing with 90...Big Cat by nature of his position must rep the best interests of the league ownership at large and at the same time...do right for his own club...

Re: To Tag or Not to Tag...I agree, man. Peppers might be a hot commodity as a free agent, but as someone a team will have to give up picks/players for, then still work out a contract with, he's just lukewarm. I think the idea is going to be to try and sign him at his value and if he balks at the deal - sayonara, Julius. |

Re: To Tag or Not to Tag...i agree to. if he wants to stay then fine hes welcome to but the team cant mortgage the farm the keep him there are more defensive ends in the world and everette brown looks like a bright spot. i just dont wanna get nothing period out of a #2 overall pick and let him just mosey out the door. the one thing to think is these 1 year deals hes forcing us into has more risk for him. a serious injury could stop the money train at any time. the lord does not like greed. |

Re: To Tag or Not to Tag...yep...the tag-trade-longterm...each of them has +'s & sum potentially large -'s....what to do??? sure will be interesting to learn of the rationale once it all shakes down... I agree that fixing the clubs #2 and #3 WR position will go aways in helping to produce more 'productivity' in the teams passing game...but I for one am hopeful they do not bring in yet another aging vet...am not certain TH would be the remedy the clib needs to doctor up the WR'ing corp...but he for certain would give the Panthers the olds group of WR in the league...87-37...89-31...and TH-34...a group of experienced whylee vet's for certain.... |
