Why couldn't this happen...Call me a simpleton (whoops I probably should not have said that...LOL) but why can't two or even four men who have a 8 year relationship sit down and reach a mutual benefical agreement on how best to proceed into the future...

Re: Why couldn't this happen...Its all very feasible, there are lot of scenarios that could easily work out. I think a lot of this, right now, is just jockeying for negotiating leverage.

Re: Why couldn't this happen...all the jockeying and posturing...really seems non-sensical when considering a relationship that is 8 yrs old...guess I am just a cut out the crap and shoot straight simple dude at heart...of course doing so depends upon trust being the key common denominator b/t the two groups... While I wrestle with the tag or not to tag option...I do think at the end of the day that the club should get a very respectable 3-4 yr offer out on the table...doing nothing but letting 90 walk just makes zero sense from this little simple corner of the world.... |

Re: Why couldn't this happen...He's a freakin LOSER that's why it can't get done. I don't understand why any fan in his right mind would want the guy. He has now become a major cancer and even his biggest supporters are turning their backs on him. All this "posturing" was not in his character until the last 2 years. He used to be a good ole humble southern eastern NC boy. I'm not sure what happened...he found the Lord (NOT), found a girlfriend, didn't like the DC, wants more $$, has a bad agent, or all of the above(?) Bottom line is this, he had his chance to sign and blew it. JRich is a man of strong character and few words who puts the nfl brand and name before everything else (even his own family in some cases), but he will try and make an example of jp. And I will be laughing my tail off. |

Re: Why couldn't this happen...Standing on a principle is a very admirable trait and JR should be lauded for such a stand and leadership example! Really hope other NFL owners can have the balls to follow suit!?! I'd like to see him get something for 90...rather than just letting him walk...but, that said, if JR just lets 90 go...as a fan of the club I will trust that at the end of the day this is the very best for the greater good of the whole..as well as the team! |

Re: Why couldn't this happen...The scenario of JR, MH, 90 and CC sitting down and working things out to everyone's benefit seems like a no-brainer, but it's unfortunately just a huge pissing contest. I place a lot of the blame (as I did last year) on Carl Carey. The guy is a stubborn ass and gives Pep a lot of bad advice, IMO. He wants to be Drew Rosenhaus, but he doesn't have the brains. I mean, Pep is his ONLY client and he can't get a deal done. I think he liked the idea of getting his cut of a $16.7 million dollar, one-year contract, and he even more fervently likes the idea of getting his cut of a $20 million one this season. Therefore he's like Iago from Othello, whispering in Pep's ear all the things he needs to say to get tagged again. He's a slime IMO. |
